Great wines begin in the vineyard. Above all, Catena Zapata winery vision is to make rich and unforgettable wines.

It was founded in 1902 and is renowned for being the pioneer in bringing the Malbec variety back to life. In addition, they discovered the terroirs of extreme height at the foot of the Andes.

The winery has 6 vineyards distributed in the areas of Luján de Cuyo, Maipu and Valle de Uco.

Each of the Catena Zapata family vineyards has parcels according to their soil composition. In other words, these parcels are individually, with an eye on encouraging their most authentic fruit expression.

The vineyards are: Adrianna, Domingo, Nicasia, Angelica, Angelica Sur, La Piramide.

Adrianna Vineyards is the most studied vineyard in the world and the most important in the winery.

Nicolás Catena Zapata dared to plant vines where no one thought they would ripen.
His high-altitude wine revolution culminated in the discovery of a new terroir for wine, the Adrianna Vineyard.

In conclusion, the team at the Catena Institute of Wine study every meter, rock, insect and microorganism in the Adrianna Vineyard, making it the most studied vineyard in the world.
