Day 1 – Welcome Mendoza.
Arrive to Mendoza, reception at the bus station or airport and transfer to the selected hotel.
Day 2 – Winery architecture. Outstanding modern and classic designs
Lujan de Cuyo, Maipu and Uco are the three most productive areas of Mendoza. Lujan is a vast region nearby the Andes, rounded by ancient water channels that contain an extensive area planted with vineyards.
Before now, Mendoza’s cellars ceased being simple spaces to make wine. Investors from all over the world, saw in Mendoza a potential destination to start their winemaking businesses, with vision of future.
Large reservoirs of water for irrigation transformed into beautiful lagoons with plenty of birdlife and fishes. As a consequence, when you go across the city, you can observe green spaces and leafy groves that march with the transformed spaces the wineries created.
Then, we will visit three totally different wineries. Not only to appreciate the unique architectural designs but also to have a great wine experience. At every winery we’ll visit all the spaces where, in particular you’ll get to see the unique character. After that, we will enjoy a great gourmet lunch matched with some of the best Mendoza Malbecs.
The winery architecture, art and design combine to achieve the sensorial impact waking up our senses.
Day 3 – Horseback riding at Quebrada del Condor in the Mendoza
In the morning we will go southwest for about 1:45 hours journey to reach La Quebrada del Cóndor (Condor Canyon) in Potrerillos.
This tour offers a 2/4-hours horseback riding through the different mountain trails shaped by native animals and people living in small settlements in the mountains nearby. Obviously, they are our gauchos, locally named “baqueanos”. Of course, they are amazing horse riders. We’ll go on a horseback to enjoy the spectacular and natural environment at the Cordillera de los Andes while we come to know and learn about the nature, geology, traditions and history of the region.
Back in the Ranch or “Puesto” we will have a nice “Asado” that we’ll share with the local family. Return to Mendoza in the evening.
Day 4 – South Uco valley wine tour. Visit 3 Wineries and enjoy lunch
Uco valley south is located about 1 hour away from Mendoza city. During the day we’ll get impressed by the framework of the Andes Range. The presence of diverse kind of soil pushed the development of grape growing in the late nineties. Not only from alluvials to volcanic but also calcareous areas in addition. Definitely, high insolation and low rains complete the perfect atmosphere for this production.
Led by specialized guides we’ll visit 3 internationally renowned wineries. We’ll learn about the different processes and technologies used to achieve premium wines of different labels. While we visit the wineries, we’ll be able to observe the steps of the process starting from the vineyards to the tanks and aging cellars.
At every place, we’ll be surprised with different aspects of wine making. After that, you’ll have time to enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch with wine pairing, all above the beautiful views of the Andes as background next to the vineyards.
