Trekking – San Ignacio Ranch – PVD
In this exclusive tour we will enjoy a day of trekking, in a unique natural environment, a few kilometers from the city. The Estancia Andina San Ignacio is a place that perfectly combines mountain and proximity. It is located only 16 km from downtown Mendoza, in the foothills of the Andes.
We will pick you up at your accommodation at mid-morning to go to the area of El Challao. During the trip we will learn about the biodiversity of the Precordillera, the climate of Mendoza and a bit of our history.
After 25 minutes we will arrive at Estancia San Ignacio. There we will be welcomed with seasonal fruits and snacks to recharge our batteries. Before starting the activity we will be able to walk around the place, observe the animals that live there and learn more about regenerative tourism.
Once we have connected with nature, our expert hiking guide will explain everything we need to enjoy the adventure. It will be time to prepare our equipment and take our first steps on unexplored trails. During 3 hours of low-difficulty trekking, we will discover water springs and spot native fauna such as black eagles, condors and foxes. We will also learn about our flora and its properties.
At noon, we will return to the ranch where we will enjoy an outdoor lunch. A delicious gourmet chopped and local varietals will be waiting for us there. We will be able to pair quality cheeses and cold cuts with the best of Mendoza wine. Between relaxed chats we will be able to learn about the customs of our host gauchos and the local people.
Did you know that it is forbidden to cut “Jarilla”? If you see someone doing it, let the guide know.
Mendoza is a desert and water is a vital resource for its productive development, that is why in SAK Wine & Travel we contribute with its care and good use in every trip we plan. We know that sustainable tourism is the way to build a better world, respectful of people and their environment. By traveling with us you are joining our sustainable philosophy.
What do you need for this tour?
We suggest you to bring these items for personal use to make your excursion perfect:
– Small backpack.
– Extra mineral water.
– Personal care items (lip balm with sunscreen, sunscreen SPF50, antibacterial gel/wipes, insect repellent).
– Special clothing: hat or cap, sunglasses, comfortable and warm clothing (fleece/sweater, windbreaker), appropriate footwear for the activity.
Note: The best clothing for mountain activities is wool or synthetic materials in layers, as they dry quickly and keep warmth better. We suggest a base layer, then an intermediate layer, such as a light fleece coat or similar, and then a windproof and waterproof layer.
Safety tips: Inform the guide or driver of any illnesses, allergies or physical restrictions. Remember to bring your medication and administration instructions.
